Lakefront Property
The only thing you’ll appreciate more than the scenery is the spacious lakefront yard. Located on a prime section of the lake you’ll have a front row seat to lake life. Enjoy the charm of a large, flat lakefront yard that is tucked into the wooded shoreline of Big Blake Lake creating an oasis for your family. Morning fishing from a private dock, hot summer days out on the lake anchored for swimming, long afternoons of yard games and evening campfires is how your family will make memories on your next lake vacation. The south side of the dock is groomed and set up for launching the kayaks and canoe. The north side of the dock is kept natural for health of the lake and fish, there will be plants growing along the shoreline and in the water. There is no swimming/wadding on the north side of the dock. Lake swimming is best from the pontoon anchored out on the lake however many guests enjoy swimming off the end of the dock were we groom weekly and the swim raft is located.
What is a day at the lake without a boat?
Treat your family to early morning fishing, afternoons out on the lake swimming and sunset boat cruises. We’ll have a pontoon gassed up and waiting for you at the dock. More information on pontoon rentals can be found HERE.
Cabin Life.
Well appointed and fully furnished this clean and spacious cabin has just about everything your family will need for a memorable vacation. Just in case you’re worried you’ll run out of things to do at the lake the great room is where a pool table, arcade table with 60 games, seating for the group, 50″ TV, WiFi and Netflix are located. A fully stocked kitchen makes preparing meals easy and convenient while at the lake. Kitchen amenities include dishes, silverware, pots & pans and small appliances including a toast, microwave, toast oven, coffee maker, griddle, blender, crock pot and hand mixer. 5 bedrooms sleep 12 guests in 4 king and 4 twin beds. A deck and covered patio with seating overlook the lake.

At the bottom of this page you will find an availability calendar for the cabin going out 12 months. Dates highlighted in red are sold. Non highlighted dates are available and the nightly rate is posted on the date.
We are licensed by both the state of Wisconsin and Polk County. The regulations set forth by Polk County require that no more than 12 people be on the property at anytime. This includes the yard, pontoon and cabin.
We require a payment of $500 to confirm a reservation. The balance is due 60 days before check in, for reservations made less than 60 days before check in the balance is due in full.
We honor cancellations requested more than 60 days before check in. A $100 admin fee that cover the cost of processing the cancellation and the non refundable credit card fees is deducted from the amount paid and the balance is refunded within 24 hours of the request. We offer two options of travel insurance as well.
You are welcome to add the pontoon to your reservation anytime between booking and check in. A check in email and text are sent to you two weeks before your scheduled check in reminding you to add the pontoon.
Balsam Fir is located on a prime lakefront lot on Big Blake Lake just outside the town of Balsam Lake Wisconsin.

Check in is 4 pm, check out is 11 am.
During our off season, September to May we offer complimentary early check in when available. During the Summer we are not able to offer early check in.

- Planning a summer getaway? Our summer reservations are available from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
- Stay for as little as 4 nights or as long as you like, with no maximum limit.
- Check in and check out on the day of your choice. We don’t have set turnover days.
- Please note that when making reservations, they need to be coordinated with other reservations. Either have the same turnover day or leave at least 4 nights between bookings.
