With room to roam you’ll enjoy exploring, lake swimming, fishing, kayak and canoe rides on the lake, bonfires and more! With one step you’ll go from shoreline to swimming.
What is a day at the lake without a boat?
Treat your family to early morning fishing, afternoons out on the lake swimming and sunset boat cruises. We’ll have a pontoon gassed up and waiting for you at the dock. More information on pontoon rentals can be found HERE.
Making Memories
One of the most loved comforts of Grand Fir Cabin is the screened porch. A dining table offers you a place for bug free family dinners, card games with old friends and game nights filled with laughter. A cozy seating area provides the perfect place for afternoon naps, good books and enjoying warm summer breezes off the lake.
Cabin Life.
Well appointed and fully furnished this clean and spacious cabin has just about everything you’ll need for a memorable lake vacation. Modern conveniences ensure your time at the lake will be comfortable and enjoyable and include WiFi, central air, newly remodeled kitchen with full sized appliances, TV’s in all bedrooms and the living room, Netflix, wood for the fire ring and wood fireplace, a screened in porch with a dining and seat area, grill and more. A fully stocked kitchen makes preparing meals easy and convenient while at the lake. Kitchen amenities include dishes, silverware, pots & pans and small appliances including a toast, microwave, toast oven, coffee maker, griddle, blender, crock pot and hand mixer.

F.A.Q
We are licensed by both the state of Wisconsin and Polk County. The regulations set forth by Polk County require that no more than 8 people be on the property at anytime. This includes the yard, pontoon and cabin.
We require a payment of $500 to confirm a reservation. The balance is due 60 days before check in, for reservations made less than 60 days before check in the balance is due in full.
We honor cancellations requested more than 60 days before check in. A $100 admin fee that cover the cost of processing the cancellation and the non refundable credit card fees is deducted from the amount paid and the balance is refunded within 24 hours of the request. We offer two options of travel insurance as well.
You are welcome to add the pontoon to your reservation anytime between booking and check in. A check in email and text are sent to you two weeks before your scheduled check in reminding you to add the pontoon.
Balsam Fir is located on a prime lakefront lot on Big Blake Lake just outside the town of Balsam Lake Wisconsin.
Both Grand Fir and Fraser Fir are dog friendly.
Check in is 4 pm, check out is 11 am.
During our off season, September to May we offer complimentary early check in when available. During the Summer we are not able to offer early check in.

- Bring your furry friends along! Fraser is pet friendly and welcomes up to two dogs.
- Planning a summer getaway? Our summer reservations are available from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
- Stay for as little as 4 nights or as long as you like, with no maximum limit.
- Check in and check out on the day of your choice. We don’t have set turnover days.
- Please note that when making reservations, they need to be coordinated with other reservations. Either have the same turnover day or leave at least 4 nights between bookings.
